Something I have been meaning to post for a very long time and I am sorry I am just getting to this now.

I build a lot of websites. As such I also register a lot of domain names for clients. Generally speaking I just hold the domain names and keep them in my name so that it’s easier to manage. One huge benefit of this is Domain Registry Scams. I receive them all the time, but its only when one of my clients that already has a domain name that receives one of these scam emails or letters that prompts me to warn you of these scams.

They attempt to get you to transfer your domain to their holding account. Mind you, you generally still own the domain, however you are now paying double or more for that domain yearly by doing so. Always be on the lookout for these scams.

One recent scam received by a client is by “Domain Service Notice” It comes in by email and has all your personal information pulled from the actual domain name. This email starts out looking like this:

Another common domain registry scam is sent by letter from Domain Registery of Canada and looks like this:

These are just two of the many domain scams out there. Always check your domain’s actual expiry date before you re-register with a scam artist. You can check the registration info of your domain from my website here:

http://www.muskokagraphics.com/whmcs-bridge/domainchecker/?

But a sure way to deal with it is to ask your website designer or web hosting company if it is a scam or not. They will provide this information to you free. It’s just part of quality service.

Have you fallen for a domain renewal scam? Let us know!

I had worked with a company in the USA called Event Espresso. They had a nice little script for selling tickets online. It needed a bit more work though and with the incredible support they provide our conversations back and forth and a little hacking here and there the event espresso module became much more robust and began to lend itself to a much wider market. Chris and Seth provide amazing support on their work and I highly recommend their scripts for event ticket sales.

In actuality the title of their post is a bit inaccurate. And to be honest the amount of money the website sold isn’t the key. it was the amount of transactions in a short period of time that was impressive for the customized scripts as well as for the Muskoka Graphics Server holding up during that heavy load. The big transactions happened at The Kee to Bala website where for a two night show of Snoop Dog which sold 1000 tickets in about 25 minutes and another 1000 ticket for a second show in a few hours just after that first show sold out. Oh and for those that think the money part is important that I believe was close to a quarter million in sales.

Here is that article..

Event Espresso, Johnny Winter sell $35k in less than 48 hours

We all know Event Espresso can do lots of different types of events. One of the most basic events — by which I mean, one that Event Espresso lends itself naturally to — is concerts and performances. Music venues have a maximum capacity — which can be set with the maximum number of attendees setting — and venue information can be stored in the venue manager and used to provide information and a Google Map about the venue. With the seating chart, ticketing add-on and mobile app, you can sell actual seats and check people in at the door.

One of our users who has been working with Event Espresso for a long time has built a couple sites for a couple music venues in Canada that have really paid off. His name is Mark and he runs Muskoka Graphics, a small design and development studio. His background in the music industry led to some jobs for local venues which ultimately needed to be able to sell tickets online. In the early days, this was handled by a simple, customizable script Mark wrote that would handle the PayPal purchase. But as these websites grew, so did his need for a more robust, reliable platform, and that’s when he found Event Espresso.

Early Event Espresso adoption leads to success

In the early days Mark contacted us often and we saw this as an opportunity to really stress test the plugin for our ideal client — someone running an actual venue on Event Espresso. Mark says the thing he likes most about using Event Espresso is the support. “These guys are right on any problem or issue or even general questions. You can’t really put a value high enough on the kind of support these guys offer.” Most of the early issues in those days had to do with scale — these were venues that were selling events out quickly which wasn’t something we had previously had the opportunity to test for. This led to numerous speed and stability enhancements in the plugin. After a while, we stopped hearing from Mark.

So imagine our surprise and enthusiasm when he contacted us to let us know that one of the two sites he’s built using Event Espresso made over $35,000 in less than 48 hours running the latest version of Event Espresso!

World Class Entertainment

Peter’s Players is a small, 88 seat theatre that specializes in world class artists like Johnny Winter, Taj Mahal and John Lee Hooker. The other venue Mark maintains, the Kee, seats 1000 and also brings in top tier artists and has seen Snoop Dogg, April Wine and The Tragically Hip. Says Mark, “I have watched [Event Espresso] perform on my server after a mass email have over 40 people buying online almost simultaneously. I have watched [Event Espresso] sell 1000 tickets in 3 hours. They are rock solid and I trust them with my clients businesses.” Mark uses mostly the out-of-the-box features of Event Espresso — waiting lists, coupon codes & early registration discounts, and invoices — but also takes advantage of the WP User Integration add-on to provide member discounts for registered users.

Powering 100 million ticket sales a year

This is only the latest success story of Event Espresso. Recently, Garth pulled together some numbers based on the User Survey responses we’ve been collecting over the past year. With the user-survey data we were able to estimate that Event Espresso powers over 250,000 events and sells over 100 million tickets per year! This deserves its own blog post in the future, but we thought you’d find it interesting that the example above is not the exception.

Is your business or organization among these? Let us know in the comments! And please share with us your Event Espresso success story, we’d love to hear it.

Smartphone Sales are expected to reach 1 Billion this year (2013)… Tablet sales are expected to reach 100 million. Even though internet explorer ships with all PC’s with a windows install Googe’s Chrome has surpassed it as the most common internet browser. Milestones that we thought would be much further into the future will be reached in 2013

According to a Pew Research Center report released in December 2012, 81 percent of U.S. adults own a cell phone, 45 percent own a smart phone, and 25 percent own a tablet PC. And they are increasingly using those devices instead of traditional computers. For example, Pew researchers found that 31 percent of current mobile phone owners who go online do so almost exclusively with their mobile devices. Morgan Stanley and other firms predict that more users will be accessing the Web via mobile devices than with desktop computers by 2014.

On our website alone the same number Chrome visits as Explorer visits in the past month. Over the last year 23% of all visitors to MuskokaGraphics.com were mobile browsers. These are the stats that have compelled us to update our website to a mobile friendly (Responsive Design) a bit sooner than originally planned. The mobile bounce rate was fairly high determining that visitors to our site from mobile devices were a bit frustrated at the navigation difficulty.

For those that are unfamiliar with the term “Responsive Website Design” It’s simply a website that is responsive to its environment. It detects the type of device and size of screen and adjusts itself to make the experience the best it can be for that size browser and device. Allowing it to push out different sized images to save you on mobile internet bandwidth use.

While we have been building responsive designs for clients for some time now, it’s been difficult to justify the time spent in re-launching our site with so many other clients waiting for their designs. However as I was told is much like the shoemakers kids having the worst shoes.

To Demonstrate make the window for this website smaller by dragging it from the bottom right hand corner (note you cannot have the window maximized to the screen to do this) Or simply visit us on your Iphone, Blackberry or other smartphone/Tablet.

Previous to this it was common for companies to create more than one website and have the website detect what device was visiting it and re-direct it to the proper site for that device. This posed a lot of extra work for designers and serious extra cost for companies web solutions. Now with responsive designs one website services all devices…

SO the task was to settle on a design for a website for a client in the construction industry. I set about like I normally do and had a look at their major competition. In this day and age people rarely pick up the yellow pages anymore…. And almost NOBODY relies on print advertising for anything other than local specials and maybe a way for a company to just reach out and say “Hey, I’m still here”. I had a real good look at a few major competition websites and even though for search engine ranking they came up high in the search list…. The websites all BIT THE GREEN WEENIE!

It would seem most of the websites were build by the owners neighbours son’s best friend and that they had bitten into one of those cheesy black hat East Indian based SEO companies that place your link in blog posts all over the place on useless poorly ranked whiner blogs all over the internet and in doing so create posts that sound like they were formed by Yoda (Good Company is I, Please if you Visit me? You have good blog thanks)

I try hard to beat it into my customers heads that now a days the web design business is tough for both the designer and the client. While most companies with decent reputations here in Muskoka enjoy a good referral business. Muskoka Graphics enjoys a HUGE referral network that is very loyal and very vocal however, there is always going to be people that will drop out of your network.

Company closes up

Company changes hands

Company relocates to another area

Companies relative gets into same business as yours

The list is endless really!

Every business needs that new influx of fresh business into their network to maintain let alone build.

So I start hammering it to my client that you must understand that your business and its quality is being compared to other businesses online based on the Look and Usability of your own website. And that is where most of your new business network will come from.

This really is the case these days. And its not only important that your site look good, be easy to navigate, answer questions or provide the information they seek in a very easy fashion…. You have to spend Time, Money and Effort to ensure that people will find that website. Search Engine Optimization is critical. Don’t fall for the cheap we will make your page #1 for your keywords crapola… Nobody can promise that, if they do; RUN DON’T WALK away. And while in the eyes of the public the above statement is true, it’s not necessarily a fact that the company that has the worst looking website is the worst company to deal with. Took me forever to relaunch my website this year. And that’s what I DO for a living. The inverse is obviously true as well.

Make sure when designing a website for your company that you are using a professional that has experience and a track record in the industry. If you are building a website for your daughters wedding, by all means use the neighbour’s son’s best friend because the only traffic it will see is someone you send the link to in email…..

Don’t just look at that designers website, Look at the portfolio he has put out in the last while and speak to those customers about their experience. My Motto is:

A happy customer is valuable, A return customer is priceless.

7 ways you could be LOSING business online…plus one that virtually guarantees it!

Most business owners today realize the having a website for their business is important. More and more customers are looking for potential products and services online only. It is also one of the most cost-effective ways to promote your product or serviceand completely eliminates the boarders of where your customers come from.

What business owners are not aware of however is that a bad website can actually cost you business rather than attract new customers. Sure bad is in the eye of the beholder to some extent however the sites ease of navigation, graphical and interesting content, usefuleness in providing accurate information are extremely important.
There are a few best practises that need to be consistantly looked at when building an online presence that will ensure that your online marketing investment pays off for your business.

MISTAKE #1: USING A SINGLE “DOORWAY” FOR ALL CUSTOMERS USE YOUR HOME PAGE TO “SORT” VISITORS BASED ON THEIR INTERESTS

Let’s start at the beginning, which is usually the home page of your website (the first page people see when they come to www.yourcompany.com). Forget about those fancy, slow-loading Flash intro movies. They act as an entry barrier and most people just skip them anyway. Get real value from your home page by using it to point prospects in the right direction.

Many businesses serve multiple market segments, with an array of products that are applicable to one customer base but not necessarily the other. Your website might already have inside pages that address each of their needs, but why not make it as easy as possible for your customers to find those pages? For instance, maybe you sell a line of ride-on lawnmowers to consumers and a line of
heavy-duty tractors to the commercial market. Your home page can divide your website into two distinct paths, each catering to those specific market segments.

Or, if you operate a jewellery business you could set up a gateway that is divided between engagement and wedding ring sets, gold pendants and bracelets, and watches and accessories. In any case, the idea is use your website’s home page to guide visitors in the right direction rather than forcing them look for what is relevant to them. This is an easy way to improve their experience right from the start. You will be known as a business that puts its customers’ interests first and will be rewarded with higher conversion rates (conversion rate = visitors are converted to paying customers).

MISTAKE #2: USING GENERIC LANDING PAGES FOR YOUR WEB ADS
LANDING PAGES SHOULD BE TARGETED TO SEARCH KEYWORDS

This one, like mistake #1 is about relevancy. Presenting your website’s visitors with information that is relevant to them is always important, especially when you are doing any kind of paid advertising online. Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is a good example of where relevancy can have a big impact on the effectiveness of your search engine ads (see our page on building targeted website traffic to learn more about reaching more customers with PPC).

Online searches can sometimes be like wandering through the desert desperately looking for something to drink. In this way, searchers tend to have a one track mind. If your Web ad comes up during a search for collectible shot glasses but directs them to a general page on your website or your main catalog index, you are going to convert a lot fewer of those clicks into sales. To the searcher, a search for collectible shot glasses should turn up collectible shot glasses, otherwise they will quickly move on to the next search result.

To avoid losing potential sales, link your ads directly to a matching landing page. And try to include some sort of offer so that once they get there, they see a compelling reason to buy from you. The same is true if you are advertising lawnmowers, engagement rings or anything else. These are things that a quality web design company will keep in mind while building your online presence.

MISTAKE #3: POORLY WRITTEN WEBPAGE COPY
WEBPAGE CONTENT SHOULD BE CLEAR, COMPELLING AND CONCISE
(AND ERROR FREE!)

Your website’s content is important because it builds trust and credibility with your customers. They cannot see or interact with you in person, so you are relying on your website’s content to be your representative, your salesperson. Poorly written copy with bad grammar and spelling mistakes equates to a sleazy-looking or uninformed sales rep. You would not keep someone like that employed in your business for very long, so why not hold your website up to the same standards?
You’re a business owner, not necessarily a writer, so do not let pride get in the way of a sound business decision. An experienced sales copywriter can make a big difference by telling your product’s story in a way that makes people want to buy. It is not uncommon to double or even triple response rates simply by utilizing better sales copy, so hire a professional and watch the orders roll in. Believe me, I am not the best at grammer when it comes to writing so I always suggest aligning yourself with a proofreader to check your work before you pump it out to the world.

MISTAKE #4: MISSING OR MIXED SALES MESSAGES
ENSURE SALES MESSAGES ARE CONSISTENT AND PRESENT THROUGHOUT

It is estimated that over 60% of online orders started are never actually followed through to completion. For Internet merchants, reducing their number of “abandoned” shopping carts is always a priority, and to do this they employ a number of proven sales techniques. One of these techniques is to continue your sales messaging right through the entire checkout process. Many businesses do a great job of describing why their product or service is the best choice, only to present their customers with a sterilelooking checkout page. Or worse, a multi-stage order form that asks for far more information than is really necessary to close the sale.
With nothing else to look at other than a product description, shipping fees and total price, buyers are left wondering if they have made the right choice. This is where many of them abandon their carts. Once your content has convinced a prospect to place an order, it is important to reinforce in their minds that they have made a good decision by giving you their business. This can be done by reminding them about your satisfaction guarantee, highlighting any discounts or incentives that are being applied to the order, with testimonials from existing clients and so on. Use every page of your website, including the crucial order form pages, as an attentive salesperson to move the sale on to completion.

MISTAKE #5: HIDING YOUR CUSTOMER SUPPORT OPTIONS
MAKE SHIPPING/RETURN POLICIES AND CONTACT METHODS EASY TO FIND

Here is a situation most of us can relate to: You wander into a store and have some questions about a product they carry; What is the store’s return or exchange policy? Do they offer a price-match guarantee? Does it come in blue? The only problem is you can not find a sales associate to help you out. You may look up and down the aisles for a while trying to find someone, but eventually you will lose patience and leave. That is another lost sale just because the store is understaffed. When it comes to buying online, studies show people are far less patient. But there is no reason to lose sales this way. Think of your website as an employee who works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When properly “trained”, this employee can serve every customer at the same time and always knows the answers to questions about store policies.

Training your website is as easy as publishing all of your policies on an easy-to-find page. A list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and their answers is another great way to provide useful information. Also include a contact page with a contact form, your phone number, physical address and hours of operation. Finally, put your phone number (or even better, a 1-800 number) at the top of every page to show customers that if they cannot find the information they are looking for online, help is only a phone call away.

MISTAKE #6: NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF UP-SELL OPPORTUNITIES
SUGGEST ADD-ONS AND UPGRADES BEFORE FINAL CHECKOUT

“Do you want fries with that?”
Whether you are selling online or offline, one of the best ways to increase the value of your average sale is to offer add-ons at checkout. And the concept is not limited to the retail industry; with any product or service sold there is an opportunity to sell a little more…

Offer a gift wrapping service for those collectible shot glasses. Do not forget about spare belts, blades or mulching kits for those riding mowers. Or how about a special discount when someone buys a set of matching earrings to go with a diamond pendant necklace? One offer that works particularly well online is free shipping when a customer meets a minimum order amount. You know your business better than anyone else, so come up with a list of add-ons that you can offer to customers during the checkout process. This will make sure that once you’ve attracted a customer you are not leaving any money on the table.

MISTAKE #7: NOT SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMISING YOUR WEBSITE
WORK WITH A RELIABLE PARTNER TO DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE SEO STRATEGY

Of all the Internet marketing options that are available to you, search engine optimization (SEO) can have the greatest impact at attracting new business and keeping you ahead of the competition. The purpose of SEO is to ensure that prospects find your business (instead of someone else’s) when searching for the kinds of products or services you offer. SEO will help your website to rank highly (ideally on the first or second page) on related keyword searches. This is of critical importance because people rarely look past the 2nd page of results. Even if your website is listed in a search engine’s index, being on page 4, 5 or 50 of the search results will not do you much good. The situation gets even worse if a competitor’s website is ranked ahead of yours! Achieving a good search engine ranking is done through a combination of specialized techniques. These include how your Web pages are programmed, the content and formatting of each page, how your website is structured and other factors. Effective SEO is not usually something you can do yourself and it is well worth hiring a professional to do it for you. The initial cost is recovered by the considerable amount of
qualified visitor traffic a search engine can send your way. Ongoing maintenance will ensure that your website remains well-positioned ahead of any online competitors so that you “own” premium online real estate for your industry category.

If you send emails to or from the United States, then you may need to comply with the anti-spam requirements of the Canada SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act). This article contains the basics of what a small business owner or internet marketer needs to know to get started with their email compliance.
If you are sending “commercial” email to more than one person at a time, you must comply with these rules. What does “commercial” email mean? Short answer — if you are a business, group, association, or anyone who has the potential to make money off of this email (even indirectly like via referrals or advertising), then it’s commercial. If you are in business, just assume you meet this requirement.
If you are sending a one-to-one email to a client or customer about your transaction with them, you only need to make sure you are sending an email with accurate information, such as using the real “from” address. The more specific rules apply when you send emails to multiple people and/or not involving a transaction:

You must not be deceptive in the header (return email address, domain name, IP address) or the subject line.

You must give a method for the recipient of the email to opt-out of being on your list or from receiving any future emails from you. You must process their opt-out within 10 business days. You must maintain this opt-out list.

You must include your physical mailing address in your emails.

The email must be identified as an advertisement. You don’t have to put it in the subject, but you must contain the name of the business and/or other identifying information showing that the email is commercial in nature.

You cannot harvest email addresses from web sites, directories, membership databases, or any other service/website that prohibit taking of email addresses. You may not guess at email address (for example, send to every info@domain.com email) to send mass emails.

Ironically, the spammers who really are the problem do not comply with any of these rules and are probably not going to get caught, typically because they hide behind shells or are outside of the United States. It’s all of us small business owners who are at risk of non-compliance.
The easiest way to comply with these rules is to go with a major commercial mass email service provider. I use aweber.com and 1shoppingcart.com to send out emails — both maintain and administer my opt-in/opt-out lists for me. And, since they don’t allow spammers to use their service (or contaminate their servers), my emails get through to my list.
Best practice — only send emails to people who specifically tell you (or sign up) for your eZine (not just hand you their business card). Better yet — have them double-opt-in (sign up and then confirm their signup by clicking on a link in an email).

How do criminals use Facebook? Let us count the ways

While the overwhelming majority of Facebook visitors use rather than abuse the world’s biggest social network – now with more than 500 million accounts, and counting – there are plenty of instances of Facebook used to commit crimes. Here’s a few example of how they did it.

More than 15 million Canadians have a Facebook account, 10 million of whom visit the social networking site every day. Yes, nearly a third of all Canadians visit Facebook on a daily basis. Cool or creepy?

Most of us use Facebook for finding old friends, sharing pics and status updates online or playing multiplayer games, but the following is a look at a few recent examples of how Facebook has been used by savvy criminals for malicious purposes — and we’re not including virus writers or distributors here.

Plus, we’ll also look at examples of how the site can be abused and how Facebook can also be used to lead to a criminal’s capture.

* Police in Nashua, New Hampshire broke up a robbery ring that was using Facebook to plan their heists. The captured criminals were monitoring Facebook pages to determine when someone would be away from their home, and then robbed it. Roughly 50 home robberies occurred in August alone – in a town of 85,000 residents – with 18 directly tied to the Facebook users. (Tip: Don’t reveal on Facebook when you’re going away and leaving your home unattended).

* On a related note, the website youropenbook.org lets criminals find Facebook users who reveal too much information. Simply type in a keyword into the search engine, such as “vacation,” “trip” or “cottage” and it will scour profile updates with these keywords and display the information, with your photo, in a matter of seconds. You can also search by location, gender, and other criteria. Creepy, but it works.

* In the summer of 2010, Facebook users were lured into taking surveys, which allowed a rogue application to spam their contacts with URLs that tease “OMG! Shocking Real Crimes caught live on Google Streets!” Once clicked, users are then prompted to click a standard Facebook “request for permission” window, which in turn, spammed more friends. The scammers were paid for traffic sent to advertised websites.

* A police report from Nottinghamshire, UK revealed Facebook-related crimes rose an incredible 346 percent between April 2008 and March 2009, where 13 complaints were logged, to April 2009 and February 2010, where that number rose to 58 during the period. Harassment was the crime most frequently reported, accounting for 36 of the 58 alleged incidents in the area, said Detective Sergeant Harry Parsonage.

* In early 2010, the UK-based Times newspaper reported one of Britain’s “most dangerous gangsters,” Colin Gunn, had been using Facebook to run his organized crime empire – while serving a 35-year sentence. The Times said Gunn, who had 565 “friends” on the social networking site, was still running his drug operation and was also attempting to intimidate people on the outside with comments such as “I will be home one day and I can’t wait to look into certain people’s eyes and see the fear of me being there,” wrote the 42 year old prisoner.

* In the summer of 2009, Inspector Neil Wylie of the Saskatoon Police Service said they used Facebook to catch a criminal. “We do have one case…where somebody is actually admitting to their friends, through open communication, that they were involved in a fairly serious crime…I think it was an aggravated assault,” said Wylie in a CBC News article. There are many reports of police using Facebook to find criminals and see who they associate with.

* In 2007, a Washington, D.C. student was arrested on suspicion of a hate crime, in which he allegedly beat up another man because the victim was a homosexual. Suspecting the assailant was also a student at Georgetown University, the victim was able to positively identify the man because of his picture and profile on Facebook.

* On Christmas Day in 2009, Craig “Lazie” Lynch, who had been on the run from Suffolk’s Hollesley Bay Prison for four months, posted a photo of himself draped in tinsel, holding a turkey and making a rude finger gesture. The 28 year-old criminal from the UK regularly updated the police of his movements via Facebook and had gained many followers. He was caught two weeks later.

Using a social media assistant to generate leads and sales through social media marketing is a smart idea for any company. Even though it is a good idea to look for help via a social media manager, a lot of people are still wondering
why?

People don’t factor in the time you have to spend learning how to use these platforms. Constantly updating and maintaining multiple accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube) to be successful using social media flat out takes time.

I’ve learned that the hard way and so have a lot of other businesses. Updating profiles, adding friends, maintaining your friends and followers lists,
responding to DM’s and messages from your inboxes, creating content, etc.It got to be a lot of work for people and businesses to keep up and maintain these accounts and that’s when it hit me!!!

Businesses need to be able to outsource this work to a social media assistant. Companies need social media managers to take over their social media marketing efforts to free up more of their time so they can handle the day-to-day tasks of their business which are crucial in making it successful.

A social media manager is now a vital piece of the marketing puzzle when it comes to any business. There are many ways that a social media assistant can ramp up your marketing efforts but here are the main reasons:

A social media assistant takes care of all the technical set up of your social media profiles. Hiring a social media manager to build all of your
social profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube) and link them together is worth its weight in gold.

A social media manager will manage your profiles after they are created. When you have multiple profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube) it can be a tedious task to clean up the junk requests and spam that comes into those accounts each and every day.

A social media assistant will help you build a following or a fan base
for your social media sites. They will work with you to learn and understand
your ideal client and put together a strategy to build a targeted following
to your sites and your business.

A social media manager will maintain and manage your reputation online. They will monitor what is being said about your products and services so that if negative things are being said online or if there is an unhappy customer then they can help put out the fire and take immediate action to help rectify the situation.

A social media assistant can also assist you with content creation for your blog or social media sites. Creating content that is useful and
engaging to your target audience is very important to your success.

Any way you slice it, a social media assistant is becoming more and more
valuable as social media continues to become a part of everyday business.

Social media advertising is quickly becoming one of the top dogs when it comes to online advertising. The reason it has taken on a life of its own is
simply because that’s where the people are.

In the last few years millions of online users have taken a liking to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. This new fascination with social media makes social media sites a top source for online advertising.

Businesses big and small are taking notice of this and here are five reasons why:

People spend a lot of their time on social networks – People spend more and more time on social media websites every day so why would you not spend more and more time there as well.

People tend to like what their friends like – iPad, Droid, Silly Bandz, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Every time something gains popularity and momentum because “everyone has one” this can be attributed to social buzz. With
social buzz the community promotes your product for you.

Some people are just popular – If your business can get just a few of these types of people to like your product or service, there is a god chance their friends will push your product or service into the view of more and more of their friends.

People are naturally social creatures – Social media gives us a chance to connect with more people than ever before which means a potentially unlimited audience for businesses.

People value their friends’ opinions – It is a known fact that people are more likely to buy a product or try a service based on what their
friends say so the more connections a person has the more chances a business has that someone will recommend there product to them.

Social media advertising works because it’s sole purpose it to get on the screens of everyday people. It is people that make any business successful so you need to be where the people can see you.
